IMI’S CANCER-KICKING

For the second time at the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), we are getting together privately to support a fundraising event “RUN TO KICK”.
Let’s get ready for a charity run or walk!
Children’s diseases are an important topic for IMI, in particular children and adolescents with cancer.
Academic and industry scientists industry of our project ITCC-P4 (https://www.itccp4.eu) are working to accelerate new and effective oncology drug development by establishing a new preclinical proof-of-concept platform that will provide high-quality biological and preclinical rationale necessary to advance the field.
We also have a project in this area called (c4c).
Another important issue is that half of all medicines used in children have never actually been tested in children. Our ‘Conect4children’ (c4c: https://conect4children.org) project is working to change this by creating a pan-European network for paediatric clinical trials. It has recently announced its first studies designed to increase our understanding of certain medicines that are common used in babies, children and young people.
